I attended an event where… wait for it…

I had my first book signing!

It was a success in ways I didn’t fully expect—especially when it came to networking and learning—but wow, do I have some improvements to make.

Still, for my first time (and while battling a cold), I’m really happy with how it went.

A big part of the experience for me was observing. Watching more experienced authors interact with readers, seeing their displays, artwork, and setups—there’s so much that goes into these events. It definitely put things into perspective.

Meeting readers was my favorite part. Everyone was so kind and supportive, and it really reminded me how special it is to be part of a community that lifts up local authors.

I do think I could have done more if I hadn’t been sick, but I’m walking away with a ton of takeaways—and a plan to do even better next time.
